Great point! I am glad I stopped doing this a few years back. I enjoyed doing it for 2 years in a particular nursery but one class was incredibly able whereas the other not so much. Of course we have adapted the play but still, it felt a bit pointless. Parents tend to want their child to be the best so if they get shy or don't want to take part they feel as failure when the intention is far from that. Currently, we do a parents event with children singing if they wish, food and Santa. But they only take part if they want.
