Welcome to February 2026 ✍️🎉
Your Guide To Everything New on The PLAYlist This February
Welcome to February on The PLAYlist!
This month is about revisiting behaviours and routines we often accept without question, and asking what they are really telling us about children and our practice!
Already live for all subscribers are two new articles. The ABC piece, Why children pretend to be cats – you will be amazed, looks beneath animal play to explore why this behaviour is often about regulation, communication, and control, rather than something to correct or close down.
Alongside this is the left handed article by Mark Stewart from Left n Write, which examines how everyday systems and resources quietly disadvantage some children, and what more inclusive practice actually involves.
For paid subscribers:
This month also includes online training exploring circle time, looking critically at why it has become so embedded, what the research tells us, and when it may not be serving the children we have in front of us.
The recorded interview with Mark Stewart from Left n Write, sharing practical insight into left handed development based on real experience.
There is also 10 new activities drop focused on Exploring Spaces, considering how children investigate space through movement, body awareness, and physical problem solving.
Another ABC Surgery takes place on 11 February at 7pm, shaped entirely by your questions, so get ready to send them in.
